Grampians

Nearing the end of my trip and almost out of money, I scrounge up enough to take one last road trip to Grampians national park. My Purdue friend Laura is in Sydney for the summer, and she comes down for a visit to join my housemate Chris and me for the weekend. It is winter at this time of year, so it's a bit chilly outside.

The place we stayed was really quite nice, very tranquil and homey. There were some really awesome wildlife just outside, as well.

After  almost 6 months, I finally make my first kangaroo sighting. They are everywhere, too. This
is right outside our hostel. I even within a foot of one and he never spooked. They seemed pretty
indifferent as to my existence.

Here are some in the woods right off the footpath about 300m into the woods. Again, they
saw us and didn't much care.

Some birds outside our room.

We took two big hikes up to peaks during the two days we were there. They each took about 2 hours each way.

One of the narrow footpaths to the top. No fatties allowed.

Scenery from the top.
A view of the top of Pennacle, also know as Pride Rock.

Here I explained to Simba that everywhere the light touches is our kingdom.

Here's all of us on the second peak.

Another waterfall we visited.

Grampians was a great note to go out on. Now it's just trying to save money so I have some until I get home.
