After 100+ job applications and a dozen interviews, I landed a job in Abbotsford doing sales. The company is a marketing firm that contracted through a local energy billing service. Most of the money is earned through commission, and a lot of money can be made on a good day. I earned a month's worth of working at ITaP part-time in one day here. The extra cash should allow me to travel where I want to now. Beyond that, the working environment is amazing. The people I work with are the same people I'll hit the clubs with on the weekends, and I enjoy every day I work. I feel like I can stand to learn a lot from a sales position. It's really just the art of persuasion, and is a skill that is transferable to any profession. It takes a lot of resilience, as a good day might consist of a 5-10% success rate. You learn to manipulate body language to your advantage and to just be generally likable. I'd recommend anybody try their hand at sales if just for a few months, there are a lot of life skills you are able to develop.
Picture time!
Here are my two housemates.

Meet Chris. He takes himself very seriously. He's English, here on a working holiday.
He's gotten his bachelor's in film studies and he's here with his American girlfriend. |

Here's Drew, he's my roommate. He's a Kiwi, but has lived in England for the past 6 years
and you can here it in his accent (it's an interesting mix of the two). He's been a barista for
10 years and works in the city. That's a zucchini I picked up from Vic Market, 1.2 kg! |
